SAPAMA 

South African Performing Artists Managers Association is a voluntary association for agents who represent actors and performers in the film and advertising industry with the aim to encourage best practices from its members by improving inter-agent communication and between agents and the industry.

 

MEMBERSHIP

Potential new members need to have been registered and trading for a minimum of

2 years to be considered. 

80% of performers of SAPAMA agencies must be professionals in their field. 

Commission charged by a SAPAMA agent may not exceed 20%.

SAPAMA members shall not represent extras or day players.

Owners or Managers of Agencies may not submit themselves for any moving media or stills work.

The talent of SAPAMA members may not be represented by another agency in the same field, i.e. commercials, voice, theatre etc.

Talent may be represented by more than one agent only if the agents are not in the same region or in different categories (film-voice).

The following documents are required for Membership to SAPAMA enabling our effort to create a formal licensing program for Agencies in South Africa:

 

• PROOF OF ID OF APPLICANT

• QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE RECORD

• PROOF OF SOUTH AFRICAN ADDRESS OF AGENCY

• LETTER FROM LANDLORD FOR AGENCIES IN A MIXED – USED BUILDING

• YOUR BUSINESS REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE (CK NUMBER)

• SARS REGISTRATION NUMBER

• VAT REGISTRATION NUMBER
